BASICS

Alexander Technique is based upon Frederick Matthias Alexander‘s conviction that all the mental, spiritual and bodily processes of human beings are inseparably connected to one other.

Conscious inhibition of movement patterns allows a person to respond to inner or outer stimuli in an non-habitual way. This gives the freedom to choose consciously between different reaction possibilities.

With the help of mental instructions, new, previously unknown movement options are opened up. These instructions relate directly to the interplay of head, neck and torso. Alexander called this central relationship primary control.
